An addition table is a chart created by arranging numbers in rows and columns following a specific pattern. It helps us learn how to add numbers together quickly without actually adding them. In an addition table, the first row and column show the numbers to be added, and the cell where a row and column meet shows the sum of those two numbers.

Addition tables display various patterns that make learning addition facts easier. For instance, when two even numbers are added, the sum is always even. Adding 111 to an even number gives an odd number, creating a checkerboard pattern in the table. The diagonal from top left to bottom right contains even numbers (222, 444, 666, 888, 101010) because these cells show the sum of a number added to itself."

Examples of Addition Table Example 1: Finding Addition Facts for Number 4 Problem:

Write all the addition facts for the number 444 using the addition table.

Step-by-step solution: Step 1, Look at the row or column with number 444 in the addition table.

Step 2, Read all the sums that involve the number 444 as one of the addends. Step 3, Write down each fact: 1+4=51 + 4 = 51+4=5 2+4=62 + 4 = 62+4=6 3+4=73 + 4 = 73+4=7 4+4=84 + 4 = 84+4=8 5+4=95 + 4 = 95+4=9 6+4=106 + 4 = 106+4=10 7+4=117 + 4 = 117+4=11 8+4=128 + 4 = 128+4=12 9+4=139 + 4 = 139+4=13 10+4=1410 + 4 = 1410+4=14 Example 2: Finding a Sum Using the Addition Table Problem:

How will you find the value of 5+35 + 35+3 using the addition table?

Step-by-step solution: Step 1, Find the number 555 in the top row of the addition table. Step 2, Find the number 333 in the first column of the addition table. Step 3, Move down from 555 and across from 333 until you find where they meet in the table. Step 4, The number at this meeting point is 888, so 5+3=85 + 3 = 85+3=8.

Example 3: Solving a Word Problem with Addition Table Problem:

Amy has 222 apples and 333 oranges. What is the total number of fruits Amy has? Use addition table.

Step-by-step solution: Step 1, Understand what we need to add: 222 apples plus 333 oranges to find the total fruits. Step 2, Find number 222 on the addition table (either in the row or column). Step 3, Find number 333 on the addition table (either in the column or row). Step 4, Look for the cell where row 222 meets column 333 in the addition table. Step 5, The number in this cell is 555, so Amy has 555 fruits in total.
